Happy Day
This is my favorite quote when it comes to love. I want to share it with you on Valentine’s Day.
“The best thing you can do for anyone that you love, is be happy! And the very worst thing that you could do for anyone that you love, is be unhappy, and then ask them to try to change it, when there is nothing that anybody else can do that will make you happy.” – Abraham (The Law Of Attraction)
Romantic? No. True? Very.
Interestingly, a lot of people are taught to believe that if they focus on what makes them happy, they are being selfish. To assume that pursuing your own happiness means that you will focus solely on your self, is to assume the worst about who you really are. We humans are naturally loving creatures and much of our joy comes from the connection we feel to those we love.
I have enough faith in humans to know that who we are is inherently good. When we are true to who we are, we do good things. So do what truly brings you joy today, and if you are in love, I suspect someone else will benefit from your being true to yourself. If others extend their love to you today, allow yourself to receive it as an extension of who they are, even if it looks different than you had hoped it would. (What, no diamonds?) You will feel happier, and so will they.
As you prepare your Valentine’s Day evening, I hope you have one goal in mind. (No, not that one). I hope you intend to be happy. Whether you are single, partnered, together or apart, I promise you this; you cannot go wrong by taking responsibility for your own happiness, today, or ever.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you.
