fbpx Lesbian Couples Boot Camp | Live Online (via zoom) | From Conflict to Connection

Live, Online Video Retreat

All couples disagree. It’s normal and healthy to disagree. Most couples argue when they disagree. Again, not a problem, unless HOW you disagree is causing more harm to your relationship than what it is you are disagreeing about!

Many couples get locked into a dance of conflict that literally repeats itself over and over and over. Ineffective styles of conflict are 100% changeablewith the caveat that you WANT to do it differently, and better.

If you are frustrated, fed-up, and discouraged by the recurring tension, criticism, defensiveness, and disconnection in your relationship, you can change how you do conflict, and in turn, transform your relationship.

  • Would you like to feel heard?
  • Do you want to feel more respected?
  • Are you ready to feel safe and loved by her again?
  • Would you like more freedom in your relationship without the fear of conflict?
  • Do you want to reduce the criticism, tension, and negativity in your day-to-day life?
  • Would you like to get off the not-so-merry-go-round of conflicts and actually make progress toward your end goals?

It’s time to try something new – something different.

“Hands down must do. No questions asked!! Very helpful tools and very simple ways to apply.  It was like a year of couples counseling in one weekend, with concrete examples, tools, and help. We tackled hard conversations in what seemed impossible before, in 3 days, with ease and with help and guidance.”

– Jade,  Phoenix, Arizona

Therapy is not the best route for many couples. And this is coming from a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides couples counseling and coaching for a living!

Psychotherapy is a service that is designed to assess, diagnose, and treat mental health concerns. We do not view couples as if there is something wrong, or something to be fixed. We view couples who are struggling as two people doing the work of being in a relationship. While mental health concerns can affect how relationship functions, the relationship itself is not a mental health issue, it is a human issue.

We look at the facts. We take time to understand the stories and experiences of each partner. Then we observe the dance that is co-created to see what’s working and what isn’t working. When you slow down, give your relationship the time and attention it deserves, you will be absolutely shocked by what you can learn. You will not only learn more about your partner, but you will learn surprisingly powerful new insights about yourself.

I was completely blown away by the Boot Camp, the content was amazing, the atmosphere (even virtually) was so warm and welcoming.  My wife and I took so many useful tools away from this weekend.

– Joanne Rosa, Milwaukee, WI

We offer specific skills and strategies to practice (and the privacy via private zoom rooms to do this practice during the Boot Camp).

With our Lesbian Couples Boot Camp Series, you will experience a dramatic shift in how you see your spouse or partner and you will gain a relationship toolbox packed full of effective skills and strategies to put to practice immediately. You will receive concrete guidance about exactly how to transform your relationship into one that you have always dreamt about.

Nothing changes unless something changes. If you want a better relationship, what are you doing to get one?

It is very well worth it! You learn a lot about yourself and about your partner. It’s comforting to see other people with the same issues – it lets you know that you are not alone. It’s saving you money and it’s more in-depth than couples counseling.

– Maria Sostre, Milwaukee, WI

We will spend 3 days together, live, and online via zoom.

At Lesbian Adventures in Love, we are committed to providing lesbian-affirming, research-informed, power-packed relationship intensives, called Boot Camps. We strive to help you develop effective relationship skills, strategies, and exercises while creating a learning environment that offers you the safety to show up exactly as you are and to enjoy the experience.

Over the course of 3-days, you will surpass the benefits of attending 3 months of couples counseling.

“It was like a year of couples counseling in one weekend, with concrete examples, tools, and help.”

Jade – Phoenix, AZ

It defies logic that we must suffer and struggle and experience pain in order to get to a better place. Your relationship is happening right now. There is no destination or place that you are going to land. Everything is changing all of the time. We believe in experiencing as much joy, right now, as possible. Life is happening as you read this, and we are dedicated to helping you enjoy your way to a better relationship.

It was awesome!   I was a little hesitant-not sure what to expect. From the time we entered the house, it was a safe and welcoming environment. Michele is AMAZING, so knowledgeable, and cares about everyone, regardless of what issues are at hand. Kristen is the Hostess with the Mostest.

– Kristin, Arlington, VA

Prior to the Boot Camp series of three separate 3-day online intensives, we were providing exclusive small group experiences for couples in a luxury Airbnb setting with shared meals. While these retreats are incredible experiences which we do plan to continue offering when the world is safe to gather again. However, we are also listening to feedback that we need to create more budget-friendly experiences.

We are excited to meet you and learn more about your relationship! The retreat is facilitated by Lesbian Relationship Coach, Michele O’Mara, PhD, and assisted by her wife, Kristen.

“It is an enlightening experience. The short term impact is that you learn the skills to have effective dialog. I enjoyed the virtual camp oppose to the in person. The reason is that we have kids and I did not have to figure out who will care for them in our absence. Also, there is a comfort with being in your own familiar space. It is very helpful and good to know that we are not the only couple experiencing similar problems. This is better than counseling.”

Valerie Jackson – Houston, TX

At an affordable rate, (77% less than it would cost to have this many hours of couples counseling), you can experience the same progress in 3 days that it would take to cover 3 months. I’m not saying you will have the key to solving all of your issues, but I am promising you that you will understand more about each other, feel more confident to approach conversations that need to happen, and you will have the skills to do them perfectly. Of course, it’s up to you what you do with the skills after I hand them off to you.

Many lesbians struggle to find a qualified couples counselor or relationship coach who is experienced in the nuances of female relationships. Are you frustrated by your inability to move past the same argument that you have over and over? Do you struggle to communicate effectively? Are you feeling alone in your relationship, or disconnected?

Highly recommended if you want to foster effective communication in your relationship, explore potential roadblocks, and learn more about your partner’s point of view. We learn from each other. Not just from our differences but also what we have in common: we aren’t alone. It’s an immersive crash course in communication—fantastic!”

– Christy, Indiana

We are built for comfort at Lesbian Adventures in Love

In order to learn, grow and better our relationships, we must feel safe, valued, and relaxed. It is essential to us that you feel comfortable, therefore, my wife Kristen and I show up as our regular, authentically imperfect selves. We do not insinuate that we have everything all figured out.

As you will see, in relationships, there is no final destination – it is always about the journey. We never get a relationship “right,” and we never get them “done.”  We just keep striving for better and never settle for worse.

We believe in keeping things real, and our goal is to make it possible for you to do the same.

“Hands down, must do. No questions asked!! Very helpful tools and very simple ways to apply. It was like a year of couples counseling in one weekend, with concrete examples, tools, and help. We tackled hard conversations in what seemed impossible before, in 3 days, with ease and with help and guidance. For me, my wife and I don’t know too many lesbian couples in our neighborhood (we live in Arizona…) and it was so refreshing to see so many lesbian couples together working on similar issues. It felt so welcoming, and helped us work through our “problems” by learning from others. Loved it!”

ABOUT Michele O’Mara, LCSW, Ph.D.

Relationships are my thing. Some would say, my obsession. While I only scored an 83.75% on my own “How Lesbian Are You” test,  don’t let that fool you. Since returning to school in the ’90s for my MSW, I knew exactly what I wanted to do: help lesbian couples grow love.

I am that person who has built her life around one thing: lesbian relationships and women loving women. For fun, I do things like create online quizzes at asklesbians.com, to learn more about real lesbians. Or I write books. like, “Just Ask: 1,000 Questions to Grow Your Relationship,” to give couples an easy way to communicate. (www.1000question.app) And, now that our boys are young men, my love, and my wife, Kristen, and I are growing lesbian love through Lesbian Couples Retreats and The Lesbian Roadshow throughout the U.S. in awesome destinations where our motto is, “love out loud” with Adventures in Love.  You can learn more about those at lesbiancouples.co.
