What are coaching Chats?

When you initiate a coaching chat with your coach online (Michele O’Mara, PhD), you will be directed to a form that gives you two chat options. The chat you select will be based on the amount of information you wish to share about your situation and the number of questions you would like answered.

Share up to 450 words about your situation (roughly one single-spaced typed page)

Ask two (2) specific questions you would like answered.

Share up to 1600 words (roughly 3 single spaced typed pages)

Ask three (3) questions

One Coaching Exchange = Your Inquiry + My Response

One exchange consists of your message to me and my response to you. The pricing is based on the typical amount of time it takes for me to read your information and respond.

What types of issues do people discuss with a coach online?

Coaching Chats offer you a new perspective about all things relationship-related. Some examples of dilemmas you might have are:

  • My wife’s parents are rude to me and she doesn’t see it and sides with them when I have a concern about it.
  • My partner <insert behavior> and I am not comfortable with it.
  • I am worried my wife is having an affair. <insert details about concern>.
  • My wife and I are separated, but she calls me every day and I get mixed messages.
  • I am interested in asking someone out, but I’m not sure she feels the same way.
  • My wife does not want a divorce but she is not coming home at night and refuses to talk about what’s happening.
  • I feel like I’ve fallen out of love with my wife and I’m easily distracted by other women.
  • I think I am gay, but how can I be sure?
  • How should I approach coming out to my parents?
  • I’m married to a man and in love with a woman.
  • How long should I wait before I introduce my children to a new partner after a divorce?
  • My parents don’t accept my partner.  Should I go to their house for the holidays even if she is not invited?
  • My partner wants to have a baby and I’m not sure I do.
  • How do we know when to move in together?
  • What can we do to make our long-distance relationship more successful?
  • My partner does not want me to spend time with my ex, but we are best friends and I need her in my life.   How do I address this?

While many of the topics listed here can not be thoroughly addressed in a coaching chat alone, this is a safe first step toward taking action and gaining some perspective about how to begin with tough topics. Coaching Chats can point you in the right direction and to give you the confidence necessary to begin addressing your concerns more directly.

What type of response can I expect from my coaching chat?

This exchange below is a small sample from a much longer actual coaching exchange with the coach online. The grey box is the coaching inquiry text and below each section is my response.
